Breitling Top Time Gents Wrist Watch, dated 1965 - Secondhand

A gents Breitling Top Time mechanical chronograph steel wrist watch on a leather strap.  The  watch has a black baton dial and two subsidary dials known as a reverse panda dial. The watch has a mechanical 17 jewels manual wind movement.  Circa 1965.

The Top Time is perhaps one of the most underrated watches of it's generation.  It's combination of stark but elegant and precise dial was a move away from the more complicated Breitling Navitimer and was aimed squarely at the emerging youth market of the 1960's.  Although originally created as an entry level chronograph it sacrificed nothing in regards of quality. The bold design still looks as good today over 50 years later and the Top Time was the forerunner for many of the watches that followed.
